We hope you attended and enjoyed the first workshop dedicated to conceptualization of an NSF Institute for High Energy Physics software and systems
hosted by the University of Illinois HEP Group and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).

The 3-day workshop was held on the University of Illinois campus at Loomis Laboratory of Physics located at 1110 West Green Street
and at NCSA located at 1205 West Clark Street in Urbana, Illinois.

The workshop was organized around topical presentations related to HEP Software & Computing, breakout sessions tasked with identifying
technical and organizational challenges to collaboration between High-Energy Physics and Computer Science communities,
and brainstorming ways in which a Scientific Software Institute could be structured to address these challenges.
